Fall 2020, Packaging Design
San Diego State University
BRIEF
This project revolved around creating engaging and practical packaging that would safely house 6 varieties of heirloom seeds of either tomato, corn, or bean species. The target demographic is consumers with double income and no children. The design reflects the organic, fair-trade, and non-GMO characteristics that one might find very common in a healthy food store.
SOLUTION
This eco-friendly package contains 6 carefully curated varieties of heirloom tomato seeds of all colors, shapes, and sizes. Closed, the package is made to look like a plant pot with the rounded form and tapered height. Once the lid is removed, the package falls flat to reveal the seed packets and additional information about the varieties along with gardening specifics and how to plant them for the best results. The seed packets can then be torn apart from each other and become ready to pour and grow! Finally, there is an additional panel included inside with instructions on how to dry and save seeds to share or save for the next season!
